Nia is more than just a dance fitness class, it is a whole body, mind, spirit process of awareness of the body and movement for health and well being.
Developed in the US by Debbie and Carlos Rosas Nia incorporates martial arts, Tai Chi, Yoga and dance in a way that creates optimum health and fitness of the body. In a joyful and fun way the teacher leads you through routines made up of 52 basic steps chosen to move the body with awareness, in the way it is naturally designed to be moved. This helps prevent the usual class injuries and makes it ideal for anyone recovering from injury or illness.
Nia is a stretch, a release, a cardio workout and a relaxation process. It strengthens the body and helps mobility, weight loss, toning and improves balance and stability.
