Whilst cleaning the clinic today I began to ponder the fact that I am still doing the cleaning even though I quite enjoy cleansing the space here.
As I was dusting I moved a book of quotations from Mata Amritanandamayi that we have in the lounge here for inspiration. I just happened to open it on a page which said:
“No work is meaningless. It’s the amount of love- of heart- you pour into your work that determines how beautiful and meaningful it will be”
Thanks for that Amma, its always good to be reminded to get back to the basic awareness of each moment being just as important as any other with regards to how you are conducting yourself. Its impossible to separate from the sacredness of everything when work is viewed in this manner.
I think that generally we may have lost sight of this basic spiritual concept and this is why people struggle with their work life. If we view ourselves as truly being in service to our clients, staff, team members, colleagues or employers it leads us to a bigger sense of satisfaction throughout our day at work, and a more joyful, meaningful existence.
Sorry got to go now and hang out the laundry with ALL MY HEART….
Here’s just one more lovely quote from Amma:
” One should see any opportunity to serve as a rare and precious gift…and never waste such an opportunity”
