Balanced Energy Nia Consultant
Born and educated in the UK, I came to New Zealand in 1981and very soon became interested in natural health and healing. I trained in massage therapy in 1982 and then counseling, psychodrama, Body Harmony, and Rebirthing to name but a few. In 1987 I moved from working in homes caring for emotionally and psychologically damaged children and began specializing in my own practice of massage and healing therapies.
Since then I have promoted and taught massage, relationship trainings, workshops for children, and personal growth trainings until about 1992 when I decided take time out to have children.
Two girls decided to join my husband and I in 1994 and 1997 and for the last 17 years I have been very happily employed as a mother, home-educating my two daughters. When my girls turned 12 and 15 I started looking for something for myself again and have ‘dabbled’ in singing, art, gardening and Bowen Therapy.
Early in 2010 I was introduced to Nia when a friend came to visit and mentioned he had just been to training in Christchurch and had I heard of Nia? Something sparked in me during that visit, the spark grew as I watched a video online, and I knew then that this was the path I wanted to tread in this, the next stage of the journey of my life.
I attended the White Belt Nia Training in Christchurch in October 2009 and have successfully produced a trainings here in Auckland in 2010 and 2011 for others to train so they may also begin to share the Joy of Nia around Auckland. I recently completed my Nia Green Belt and am very excited to be travelling to the US this month to train with Debbie Rosas, one of the originators of the Nia technique
I am really looking forward to sharing this wonderful holistic movement class with you. Nia offers a complete workout for the body, mind and spirit. By going with the ‘Body’s Way’ we generate self healing on a very deep level. Join me for a fun-filled, conscious journey into yourself.
